A city that was built by deconstructing something massive
and learning through it, the idea itself is so fascinating to have thought
about. Creation and destruction is that one thing that can be roughly called to
be the basic formula to get an idea about the city. Shiva the destroyer and the
creator is the symbol of their devotion and love for god. Degeneration causes
emergence and that is what has happened in Banaras. Religions emerged through
this degeneration, and the entire city works consistently because it believes
to be one body itself.
Religion has always been a dilemma in the minds of many, for
its roots haven’t been proved, some believe it to be a myth provided to the
people to keep them busy, while some believe in it and it provides them
satisfaction. None can be questioned over but scraping through the layers of
history to find an answer to this quest will always be an ongoing process.
Through the information received from the people of Banaras and certain books-
Shiva is believed to be the Adi god, the first form of existence . Before which god has no shape or form, also
interesting is the fact that shape is not a form. So then where does this start
from?
The trip to this city is a chance to explore within the
city, within myself and also understand that what makes a city, and not any
city but Varanasi! A journey of stories, stories by the people and for the
people.
“WHAT IS INCLUDING IS NOT IMPORTANT BUT WHAT HAS BEEN
EXCLUDED IS.CHANGE YOUR LENS AND SEE THE VISION, AN INNER DIALOGUE WILL SPEAK”
My journey begins with a sparrow eating the scrumps of my idli at the airport, wonder where it came from and flew off. |
