The Race Against Time

Time ticks continuously and brings between a bridge to connect the past and the present. Hours differ and we have crossed states, cultures, traditions, languages and people.  My folks and me in all summed up to be 24 people and two of the super coolest  facilitators of Srishti accompanied us in this journey of exploration. It has always amused me how the invention of the aeroplane would have been a massive achievement. I did research about it, the flight of man was the idea behind it.
Excitement kills sleep and yet tried getting some sleep, but had a quick bath and as usual ended up getting late. A cold water bath provided me with the necessary refreshed atmosphere to begin this journey. I was sharing a haversack with two of my housemates, and the bag which ended up being a bloated amoebic shaped weighed so heavy that within two minutes of carrying it my back gave a throbbing pain. We ended up actually looking like travelers. Reaching the decided place, new faces although have been in this college for more than four months, new faces were to be seen. New facilitators, and new journey to learn explore to enjoy. Travel has been my life and so this was an addition in my travel diary. Yelahanka at four in the morning is just the same cold, deserted and dark. Nausea is something that gets to most of the people, my neighbour in the tempo traveler began her journey with vomiting. Reached the airport, and the unpredictable rains of Bangalore. Truly one of its kind, it drizzled and our flight got delayed.

Sitting in the flight, I saw the race of the water droplets against gravity, that fell on the window pane actually vanish with the increasing speed, the sunrise that created an illusion with the clouds, and a good sleep to be welcomed by the Delhi airport. Delhi being the capital of our country has been provided with every possibility to be shown as a tip top, perfectly furnished and equipped state. Flight delaying has become a common practice nowadays. L After an hours wait we boarded our flight to Varanasi. Goodbye to the south and now we have entered the north. The Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. Was more a substation with hardly anything or anyone I felt the city right away, a massive crowd stood outside the airport than the number of people inside. One thing that goes unnoticeable is the luggage claim belt, anything fragile would have been smashed into  pieces. Broken roads, countless cows, and even more countless temples covered the entire road till we reached BHU, Banaras Hindu University our abode for the next seven days. Breath of the Varanasi air fills in… and the days begin.

On A trip like this there is always a certain amount of things you can plan for and then THERE IS ALWAYS THE UNEXPECTED, and often the space we leave for the unexpected turns out to be the most enthralling experience in our lives.

LBS International Airport leads us on..
